Sick Music For the Weekend

B.O.B. and Lil Wayne team up for “Strange Clouds” off of Bobby Ray’s newest album.  Definitely a stoner anthem (fuck yeah), with some crazy instrumentation.  The dubstep production shit isn’t stopping anytime soon, but this shit bumps.

Childish Gambino (Donald Glover from Community) goes off on “Bonfire.”  If you’re not familiar with Gambino, do yourself a favor and check out some of his stuff.  Not the kind of hip-hop you’re gonna hear on the radio, but he’s got some witty (although mysogynist) lyrics that definitely should make you laugh.

I’m a huge Stevie Wonder fan.  And “Superstition” is one of the best songs ever.  If you disagree you can go fuck yourself.  That bassline is fucking amazing.  Do it Stevie!  Do it!

J. Cole’s “Lights Please” is his ode to his battles with females that all seem the same.  His album Cole World is amazing.  He’s seriously one of the best out right now, so do yourself a favor and check him out if you haven’t already.

Lil Wayne’s “Blunt Blowin” is off his last album, The Carter IV.  Some typical witty Weezy here.  The chorus makes me wanna get reeeaaallll ig’nant up in this bitch.

I’m a big fan of Frank Ocean.  The music video for “Swim Good” is weird to say the least.  Very well written song with some deep lyrics, matched with a bizarre ass video.  Never disappoints.

Bad Meets Evil (Eminem and Royce da 5’9”) put out a music video for “Lighters“.  Bruno Mars gets down on this inspirational song.  Pretty cool visuals on this one.  Em is insane, and Royce has been one of my favorites for years so I’m happy for his newfound success.  Listen.

The Game meets up with Lil Wayne and VMA Best New Artist Winner Tyler the Creator for “Martians vs. Goblins.”  If you’re a fan of Tyler the Creator, you’ll be a fan of this one.  His crude image and lyrics are catching on in the mainstream, and Game does his best to match Tyler.  Odd Future’s Tyler outshines everyone on this though with lines like “that shit was expected like Jayceon (Game) whenever he name drop.”  Calls out Game’s notorious name-dropping on his own record.  Fuckin’ love it.  The jab at Lebron’s losing hairline is also welcome.

And random ass song of the week goes to………Eagle Eye Cherry “Save Tonight.”  If you guessed that then you’re a fucking genius.  This song has been stuck in my head for about a week now and the only way I’m getting it out is with a bullet.  If you’re not singing to this song when you hear it I feel bad for you.

Kanye West and Jay-z team up for “Otis” on their Watch the Throne album that released this past week.  Otis Redding sample and two of the best emcees in the game…can’t go wrong.  R.I.P. to that Maybach though.  They balling like that.

Drake’s new single “Headlines” comes off his upcoming Take Care album.  Drake always does what he does.  If you’re a fan you’ll definitely feel this.

The Roots are too sick in my opinion and “The Seed (2.0)” is one of my favorite songs of theirs.  I don’t care if this is old.  I’ve had this song stuck in my head for like a week now.  And I’m not complaining whatsoever.

Sick Music

J. Cole keeps turning out sick shit.  He teams up with Trey Songz on “Can’t Get Enough.”  Only thing you need to know about this song…”I beat the pussy up….that’s the hook right thurrr!”

The Cool Kids’ “Get Right” is a perfect summer song.  Their whole entire album When Fish Ride Bicycles has a summer vibe.  Check em out.

Frank Ocean really catches my ear again.  “Thinking About You” is ill.  You know you’re gonna jam this song on the low.  Not me.  I belt this shit, hitting all them high notes.

Sick Music for the Weekend

If you’ve watched SportsCenter for the past week, you’ve heard this song.  It’s Bad Meets Evil “Fast Lane.”  Bad Meets Evil consists of Eminem and Royce da 5’9”.  Royce has been one of my favorites for years, so seeing him succeed with Eminem is good to see.  This song is siiiiick, video is crazy too.

Pusha-T hook up with Tyler the Creator of Odd Future and put out “Trouble on my Mind.”  Definitely a combination of emcees most people didn’t see coming, but they came off dope together.  Had this chorus stuck in my head for more than a week now.

Wale and J. Cole team up for “Bad Girls Club.”  Both emcess only know how to put dope shit out, but Wale and Cole have been putting out straight HEAT lately.  Can’t wait for their respective albums to drop.  “Bad bitches get loowwwwwww.”

Sick Music for the Weekend

New installment on the site because fuck it.  I like music.  So I’m gonna start telling you guys what you should listen to.  If you don’t like it, kick rocks and scroll down.  This is Frank Ocean’s “Novacane.”  I can’t get this shit outta my head.  Go check out his “Nostalgia” album.  It’s all laid back, and lyrically pretty amazing.

That was Big Sean’s “High” featuring Wiz Khalifa and Chiddy Bang.  Insanely catchy, no?  Me and my boys have been singing that chorus for weeks.  “I-I-I don’t give a fuck about anything, that you’re telling me, cuz right now, it’s all irrelevant, I’m so high, I won’t, remember it.”  Plus anything with Chiddy on, I’m bumping, and Wiz is all over the place right now.  Go check out Big Sean’s album “Finally Famous.”  G.O.O.D.
